Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients warmly and establish a positive provider-patient relationship
• Check patients' mouths for any problems and ask them about their dental history
• Give patients instructions on how to care for their teeth after dental procedures
• Clean and protect patients' teeth by removing plaque and applying fluoride
• Teach patients of all ages about best practices related to oral hygiene
• Help dentists choose the right treatments for various oral diseases
• Take X-rays, dental impressions, and conduct initial screenings
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, cavities, or gum disease
• Keep track of patients' dental records
• Maintain dental supplies inventory
• Sterilize dental instruments

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills & an ability to explain dental procedures to patients
• Experience using dental software (ie - Open Dental, Dentrix, or others)
• Great people skills, including a patient, friendly, and kind personality
• Experience in preparing, maintaining, and utilizing dental equipment
• Work experience as a dental hygienist either currently or in the past
• Diploma in Dental Hygiene or ADA accredited hygiene program
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g. HIPAA)
• Extremely organized and with great attention to detail
• Ability to meet the physical demands of a chariside job
• Valid license to practice
