Orthodontic Hygienist

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional patient care and education, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for all patients. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and hygiene while working closely with dentists and other dental professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
• Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and taking vital signs.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Clinical duties including bonding brackets, repositioning and repairing, changing arch wires, debonding brackets and attachments, remove excess cement, retainer insertions, retainer/appliance adjustments and cement bands.
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, including orthodontics
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Use of digital scanner/prepare lab scripts

Requirements

• Valid dental hygiene license in Ontario, and in good standings
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skill, written and verbal
• experience in orthodontics procedures
• Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
