Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires proficiency in dental terminology, chairside assisting, and a solid understanding of infection control practices. Our practice focuses on both general and pediatric dentistry, making experience in these areas highly desirable.

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, fostering a supportive environment for pediatric patients.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed during procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
  • Stay updated on advancements in dental technology, including 3D scanners, to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred, with exposure to pediatric dentistry being a plus.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential; familiarity with Epic is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology is required.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques is crucial for patient safety.
  • Experience with prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and provide them with comfort during visits.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
